Planeta takes part in the 12th edition of Sicilia en Primeur, the annual event organized by Assovini Sicilia, taking place from May 11 to 16, 2026. This year’s theme, “Taste the Island, Live the Story,” highlights one of the most strategic directions for the future of Sicilian wine: wine tourism.
The first event on the agenda will be held on Monday, May 11 in Palermo, at the Oratorio dei Bianchi, with the opening conference “Taste the Island, Live the Story.” Alessio Planeta will deliver the opening remarks in his role as President of the Consorzio di Tutela Vini DOC Sicilia.
On May 12 and 13, Planeta will once again take part in the technical tastings and masterclasses included in the event program key moments of dialogue with international press and wine professionals.
On Friday, May 15, international journalists participating in the press tours organized by Assovini Sicilia will visit the Serra Ferdinandea winery and vineyards before heading to the Planeta estate in Ulmo.
The event will conclude on Saturday, May 16 with the final tasting open to the public.
Sicilia en Primeur continues to be a key moment in the collective storytelling of Sicilian wine: an opportunity to discover wineries and territories where wine becomes a unique lens through which to understand the island’s extraordinary diversity, biodiversity, historical heritage and cultural identity—alongside the stories of its producers and wine estates.
