planeta-sep-2025

Planeta is taking part in the 21st edition of Sicilia en Primeur, the annual event organized by Assovini Sicilia, held this year from May 6–10, with its final base in the Baroque city of Modica. The theme of this edition is: “The Culture of Wine in Sicily: A Millenary Story Looking to the Future”, an invitation to reflect on the cultural and sustainable value of wine as an identity element of the island.

Over the course of the event, more than 100 journalists from around the world will explore the “Sicilian wine continent” through eleven press tours covering the island’s key production areas. Among these, Planeta’s estates will be the focus of two major stops.

On Tuesday, May 6, a group of journalists will visit the Serra Ferdinandea estate, ending the day with a private dinner. On Thursday, May 8, the Buonivini winery will welcome another group for an exclusive visit and lunch—an opportunity to explore the Noto territory and the wines of southeastern Sicily.

The collective moment of the event will take place in Modica on May 9 and 10, with technical tastings, talks, and conferences held at the Castello dei Conti and Teatro Garibaldi. Among the highlights, the SOStain Foundation will host a conference on May 9 titled “The Culture of Wine”, exploring wine as a driver of territorial development and a tool for informed, conscious consumption. Alessio Planeta will participate with a contribution on the sustainable future of Sicilian wine.

Sicilia en Primeur remains a strategic opportunity for the collective storytelling of Sicily’s wine identity—an important moment of exchange with the international press and a chance to strengthen the island’s regional identity.
