{"id":6018,"date":"2018-04-11T19:20:42","date_gmt":"2018-04-11T17:20:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.planeta.it\/news-and-events\/non-categorizzato\/exploring-nero-davola-at-vinitaly-2018\/"},"modified":"2018-04-11T19:20:42","modified_gmt":"2018-04-11T17:20:42","slug":"exploring-nero-davola-at-vinitaly-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.planeta.it\/en\/news-and-events\/news\/exploring-nero-davola-at-vinitaly-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cEXPLORING NERO D\u2019AVOLA\u201d AT VINITALY 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">An entire year devoted to the presentation of Nero d\u2019Avola to the whole world; after Dubai, Tokyo, Osaka, London and D\u00fcsseldorf, the tour \u2018Exploring Nero d\u2019Avola\u2019 finally arrives at Verona for Vinitaly.<br \/>\nThe tour is intended to provide in-depth knowledge to the international public of the most important Sicilian red grape varieties, through a wealth of information and the opportunity to taste the wines produced by grapes from different areas and various vintages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is precisely an \u2018exploration\u2019 through the great territories of Sicilian wine where the Planeta estates now stand, and whose own \u2018journey through Sicily\u2019 has been inspired by the desire to produce every wine in its own territory, and to discover their own interpretations of the great Sicilian indigenous grape varieties. \u00a0Particularly in the case of Nero d\u2019Avola, they wished to discover how it succeeds in expressing itself everywhere but always in a different and surprising manner.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Apart from Etna, Planeta\u2019s other four wineries \u2013 Menfi, Noto, Vittoria and Capo Milazzo \u2013 have all been part of intensive research work into this ancient and noble variety over the years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Obviously it won\u2019t be this project alone to mark the presence of Planeta at Vinitaly 2018.<br \/>\nThere are also important new wines from the territory of Noto; Allemanda, the new name of the Moscato Bianco, and Controdanza, another Nero d\u2019Avola which is now \u00a0blended with a small percentage of Merlot.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>\u2018After Santa Cecilia, of which the name derives from that of our family and defers to the patron of Music,\u2019 explains Alessio Planeta, \u2018Allemanda and Controdanza are also a homage to this art, which is indicated on the Noto wine labels. \u00a0For Moscato we chose the name of an opening dance, as is our wine. \u00a0And for the blend of Nero d\u2019Avola and Merlot, purposely, that of a country dance originating in a game of agreements and contradictions\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">At Vinitaly Planeta will also present the wines whose new vintages have gained a label indicating denominazione Sicilia Menfi Doc \u2013 Alastro 2017, Terebinto 2017, Burdese 2014, Merlot Sito dell\u2019Ulmo 2014, Maroccoli Syrah 2014; Brut Metodo Classico with its new label, and a gem of the Etna vineyards, Eruzione 1614 Pinot Nero, the result of a specific experiment following that already carried out on Riesling. \u00a0\u2018We concentrated on Pinot\u00a0Nero which has been cultivated in the area for centuries, though marginally, as a small collection of vines growing on the legendary eruption of 1614. \u00a0The result\u2019, concludes Alessio Planeta, \u2018is an absolutely original version of this variety\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>Planeta will be at Vinitaly, at Pavilion 2 Sicilia Stand 81 E\/90<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE WORLD TOUR PROMOTED BY PLANETA ARRIVES AT VINITALY<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":3135,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[305],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-6018","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
